Welcome to the West Seneca Central School District
|
Speech/Language Therapy: Speech/language therapy is offered through the school district to students whose academic performance is adversely affected by one or more of the following:
|
These disorders must be moderate to severe in nature. Students tested by the speech therapist are referred to the Committee on Special Education and a psychological evaluation is performed to determine if the child will benefit from intervention.
Children with developmental speech delays (those delays that will develop naturally as the child matures) do not qualify for speech services in the schools.
Delivery of school-based services will be determined by the Committee on Special Education on an individual needs basis.
If you are concerned about your child's speech-language development, please contact the speech-language therapist at your child's school.
